Introduction
In this blog we present you the Republic of South Africa. The blog concerns the history of this country in the second half of the 20 century which is the history of appearance, evolution and the abolition of apartheid. Apartheid is the legal system of racial segregation and political and social discrimination of nonwhite groups in South Africa. It was established in 1948 and till 1994 it was official policy of National Party. Mostly we will talk about Nelson Mandela, the main personality of protest against the segregation. He is a former president of South Africa, a leader of National Party, whose main activity was to lead to multiracial democracy.
The question which interests us is the role of Nelson Mandela in anti-apartheid organization.
We know that the election of the first democratic government in South Africa in 1994 officially removed the last traces of apartheid. We find also interesting to see, in what state is the democracy now in South Africa, after nearly ten years since this apartheid regime has gone.
So, we present you some text and audio documents, which support information about historic context in South Africa, the political and social ideology of the period and of course Nelson Mandela’s activities with some documents of actuality.
